This website belongs to Brunaly Park Non Profit Company (Registration number 2002/023141/08), representing the residents who are members of Brunaly Park comprising of the suburbs BRUmmeria, NAvors, and LYdiana, as well as a block of Val de Grace, south of the N4 freeway and west of Tambotie Street, in Pretoria.

The area:

Goal & Mandate:

The non-profit company's goal and mandate is to improve the safety and security for the residents, so that everybody can walk in the streets in safety - day or night.

Board of directors: (Volunteers from the community appointed yearly at the AGM)

The following residents (volunteers) serve as directors without remuneration on the board of Brunaly Park NPC for the 2022/2023 year:

History:

Before we protected our residential area with palisades, gates, and monitored access, there were typically 46 incidents of theft and burglary per year. There were two cases of murder, one double rape, and one attempted rape. Burglars were romping through our properties at night, and they even robbed people by day.

Eventually we obtained a court order which allowed us to monitor access to the area.

The following statistics are noteworthy from the bar graph of 2001 as well as the crime map of 2002-2003:

Since we fenced off our area, appointed a reaction vehicle which remains in our neighbourhood exclusively, and put guards at the gates to monitor access, crime has reduced drastically, as you can see from the bar graph for the year 2013:

Ever since the Brunaly security effort started, we have had some petty crime every now and then, but we have never again experienced the serious contact crimes that we had before. 

As long as the community financially supports the project and contributes to the marketing of the project, we endeavour to fulfill our mandate to the best of our ability.
